Within this photograph, we can see two different faces that have been emerged together as one face. The background for this shot is white and therefore makes the subject stand out well. On the left-side is the half of a woman. We know this because of the facial features, jewelry and hair that can be seen - in this case drawn on eyebrows, long hair and earrings. On the opposite side, we can see the half of a male. We know this because of the facial features - in this case a beard and bushy eyebrows. The two shots have been placed together to create a full face. The contrast in hair also works really well against the background.

Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a man. Behind the man we can see a black background. The lighting within this shot is artificial and has been placed in order to make him stand out against the black background. Due to the fact that the lighting has been positioned to the left of the shot, the right side of his face is dark because of the shadows. The man can be seen to be covered in a white liquid substance but it is hard to tell exactly what the liquid substance is. The facial expression of the man indicates that he is feeling some sort pleasure as the liquid covers his face. We know this because of the fact that his eyes are closed and his mouth is open.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a woman who is looking directly at the camera lens. The shot captures the woman from the chest upwards. The woman's entire body is covered in a gold coloured robe. The background of the shot is black and therefore the gold robe and woman's face contrasts really well and therefore stands out easily. The woman's features and make-up is simple and defined. The blue eyes and red lips encourages her to stand out well against her light coloured skin. The shot is simple but creates definition and contrast and the fact that the woman is completely covered in a gold robe makes the photograph appear unusual.

In the photograph, we can see a shot of a man who is holding two separate pictures. The man is seen to be standing against a white background. The two pictures are different but complete an image when placed together. The first picture to the left is of a gun and the second picture to the right is of blood being splattered. In between the two pictures is the man who is pulling a specific facial expression. That expression is of him being dead. This creates a photograph that makes him look like he's shot himself in the head. This creates a suicide scene. I think that this shot works really well because it creates a dramatic and horrific scene by simply using a facial expression and pictures.
This photograph consists of a man who is standing in front of a grey background. The shot features a picture that has been torn up down the middle of it. The picture has a face on it that has been torn by the left eye. The picture lines up with the outline of the man's body. The man can be seen to be holding the picture with both of his hands. The man can also be seen to not be wearing a shirt and has his chest showing. The shot is a medium close-up due to the fact that photograph cuts off at the man's chest area. The picture has been positioned perfectly in order for it to look more realistic and life-like - in terms of the body outline.
Within the photograph, we can see a shot of a human body which has a animal head. The background for this shot is a light blue colour. This makes it easier for the subject to stand out well and contrast against it. The animal's head that has been placed on the body is that of a wolf. The wolf head has been photoshopped onto the body of the human to make it appear like the wolf is wearing the outfit - which consists of a bow-tie and suit. This therefore makes it appear like the wolf is actually a human and has human characteristics such as wearing clothing (bow-tie and suit) and being able to stand up on two feet.
Within this photograph we can see a shot of a young woman who has her hair in ponytails. The background for this shot is pink to make it appear more feminine. The pink background also matches with the pink bubblegum bubble in which the young woman is blowing. The woman's hair is black and dark and is wearing a white t-shirt with red polka dots. The woman's eyes can be seen to be looking to the left-hand side of the photograph. This is due to the fact that there is a hand that is holding a needle that is pointed towards the bubblegum bubble. The empty space present within the shot is quite huge due to the fact that the subject is featured within the middle and bottom third.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a man who is pulling a facial expression. The shot has been put in black and white to highlight the detail of the man and his chest. The man can be seen to be exaggerating the skin on his shoulders/neck. We know this because of the lines that are defined within the photograph. The man has his eyes wide open as well as his mouth. The detail on the photograph creates definition and therefore makes it look more professional. The facial expression makes the photograph unusual because it is not something that would usually appear in a portrait shot.
Within the photograph, we can see a man who is looking directly at the camera lens. The man within this shot is different to what most men look like due to the fact that he is seen to be wearing make-up. The background within the shot is white and therefore makes him stand out well and contrast against it. The man is seen to be wearing make-up on the right-hand side to the camera. He is wearing red lipstick and blue eye-shadow to be different and unexpected. The left-hand side features no make-up and therefore the two halves contrast between the majority and minority of men who wear/do not wear make-up. This shot is simple but still captures a 'different' look/feel to it.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a man who is making a facial expression. The man can be seen to be standing in front of a black background. This has been done to ensure that the subject is standing out well enough for the audience to see the contrast between him and the background. The facial expression of the man indicates that he is being blown with air. We know this because of the particular facial expression he is pulling - top lip being pulled up and eyes being semi-closed. The photograph is a close-up and features only the head and neck rather than showing the shoulders or anything more. This works really well because it shows his facial expression clearly.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a woman looking directly at the camera lens. The photograph has been put into black and white to ensure that it is scarier and more defined. The shot consists of a woman's face and her shoulders. The shot looks intimidating due to the fact that it is in black and white and her facial expression. She looks intense and connects with the audience - in terms of talking directly to them by staring at them. It makes the audience feel intimidated by her presence and creates a 'dramatic' atmosphere. The shot works well because of the black background and the lighter shade seen within the skin of the woman.
Within the photograph we can see a shot of two separate people that combine together to create one single shot of a face. The two people consist of a man and a woman. The man is seen to be looking directly at the camera lens compared to the woman who is seen to be looking to the left of the photograph. The man's face is seen in the left-hand side of the shot and the woman's face is seen to be on the right-side. The difference between the two faces is that you can see the left side of the woman's face. She has been placed in front of the man's face and therefore overlaps the half of his face. This shot has been put into black and white to make the skin stand out but still look professional.
Within this photograph we can see a shot of a young man who is staring directly at the camera lens. The shot itself focuses purely on the man's head but features a small amount of his shoulder line at the bottom third of the photograph. The background in this photograph is a grey colour to allow for him to stand out easier. The difference between this young man is the fact that half of his face is different to the other. In this specific case, his right-side is covered in a white paint compared to the left-side which has been left natural. The line separating the two different colours is not straight and consists of edges and curves - this makes for a more dramatic feel.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a young boy who is positioned in in the middle/bottom third of the space. The background for this photograph is black to allow for the young boy to stand out well. The boy's face, neck and top of shoulders are covered in white paint. The rest of his body is seen to be showing skin because he is not wearing clothing. The shot ends at his chest line and shows his arms and shoulders. Within the white paint on his face, there are different coloured paint symbols. On the left side of his face we can see a red heart balloon and string that overlaps his left eye and eyebrows. The second image is of a person who is trying to capture the balloon. The colour of the person is black and white. Their hand is being stretched out to try and grab it. This therefore creates a picture within the paint.
Within this photograph we can see a side shot of a young girl who is facing to the right. The girl's hair has been shaved on the right-side of her head and the hair has been flipped over to the left-side. The shaved area has been coloured blue and the rest of the girl's hair has been ombred from the top of the hair (purple) to the bottom of the hair (brunette/blonde). The right-hand side of her face has been painted in a 'cheetah' pattern that matches the colour of her shaved area - blue. Also matching the 'cheetah' pattern and shaved area is the lipstick she is wearing. The bold and dark blue colour stands out well against the colour of her skin and the light coloured background. This makes it contrasts well and captures the audience's attention. The girl can be seen to be wearing no clothing and holding the side of her head. The shot cuts of the top of her hair and stops just before her chest to ensure that nothing is on show.
'
Within the photograph, we can see a close-up of a woman's head. The background of the shot is a light colour to allow contrast between the background and the skin of the woman. The shot cuts out the top of the woman's forehead, as well as the sides of her head and her shoulders. This is due to the fact that the main focus should be on the make-up of the woman. The make-up has been placed onto her face to create a butterfly effect. There are two separate wings that have been painted on each half of her face. The wings start on the outline of the nose and reach out to the edge of her face. The eyes have been defined by using a darker blue eye shadow and blue pupils to make it stand out against the lighter blue/white colour that has been used to complete the butterfly. This works really well and it makes the eyes stand out rather than blend into the butterfly pattern that is present.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a person who is looking to the left of the space. The space present can be seen in the bottom left/middle left of the shot. The rest of the space is covered by the model and their hair/outfit. The top half of the model's face is cover in a mask that features a variety of different colours - white, gold and black. The mask appears to have musical notes placed around it. The different part of the mask is the fact that the eyes have been coloured in black to make them relate to the hair and black found within the mask. This works really well. The other half of the model's face is not covered but is white and they can be see to be wearing dark rip lipstick which matches the material found on the model's shoulders/neck. The shot cuts off just underneath the neck but due to the fact that it has been covered, you can only see skin on their face.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a young woman who is looking directly at the camera lens. The shot cuts off at the bottom of her neck and cuts out some of her hair at the top. The unusual part of this woman is the pattern on her skin. It is not 100% clear what the exact pattern is but it appears as if her skin has been pulled apart. When looking closely at the pattern, it appears that there are flowers close to her eyes. This makes it look like the pattern is something linked to nature. The pattern is very unusual are hard to make out and therefore fits well into the unusual portrait category that I am doing. It is also not clear whether the pattern has been painted on or whether it has been photoshopped on.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a woman who is pulling a specific facial expression. This facial expression shows that she is either in some sort of pain or she is angry. We know this because of the fact that she is squinting her eyes and opening her mouth. The unusual part of the this photograph is the giant gold eyelashes that she is seen to be wearing. The gold eyelashes contrast well against the colour of her skin as well as the background that has been used. The background uses gradient to go from a dark black to a lighter grey (from top to bottom) and still makes the woman stand out well. Although this photograph is simple, it is still effective in being unusual.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a young woman who is standing. The young woman is standing in front of a black and grey background. The edges of the space are black and the space in which the woman is standing in/near are a spotted grey/black. This portrait captures the whole area of her body and leaves a small bit of space above her head. The woman is seen to be holding a ball in between her left arm and body. Her right arm is positioned with her hand on her hip and her right leg is positioned in front of her left - overlapping it. The woman is wearing a sporting outfit and is caught up in between a net that is related to the sport she plays. The netting starts at the top of the space and fills the vertical middle third as it reaches the bottom of the space.
Within the photograph, we can see a shot of a woman who is featured in the vertical middle and right third. The photograph has been put in black and white to allow for her hair, facial features and clothing to stand out. The unusual part about this photograph is the fact that she seems to of gotten wet and therefore has mascara underneath and around her eyes. The key to the 'wet' look is that her hair is thin and dark which indicates that it has gotten wet. The woman is seen to be flipping her hair to create still movement within the shot. This creates an unusual portrait due to the fact that she is creating movement through a photograph. The fact that movement is by wet hair also makes it slightly different. The shot itself captures the head, neck and shoulders of the woman and therefore makes it easier for the audience to establish the main subject of the shot.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of two people. The two people consist of one male and one female. The female is seen to be in the left-side of the shot and the man can be seen to the right-side of the shot. The unusual part of this portrait is the fact that the man is seen to be pulling a face towards the woman. The woman's hair can be seen to be in front of her hair which indicates that the face he is pulling is the face because he is blowing air at her hair. The woman can be seen to be looking and face directly towards the camera lens whereas the man is seen to be facing sideways of the camera in order to face the woman and blow air at her. The background in this shot is grey which allows for the two to stand out well and contrast enough for the audience to see what is going on in the photograph.
Within this photograph, there is a shot of a woman who is looking directly at the camera lens. The background featured in this photograph is white in order for the woman to stand out well. The shot features the woman's head, shoulders and arms. The woman can be seen to be placing one arm on her head while the other arm holds it. The unusual part of this portrait is the fact that the woman is covered in what appears to be chocolate. The chocolate covers the whole left-side of her face and can also be seen on her shoulders and her fingers as well as a little bit on her arm. The section of her shoulders have been smudged to make it look different. The contrast between her skin and the chocolate works really well because it makes the chocolate stand out- especially on the face where it is a lot darker because more has been used.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a woman who is positioned slightly to the left. The shot features her head, neck and shoulders. The background present within this photograph is a light brown/grey colour which allows for the woman to stand out well. She has her hair placed in a messy bun which is a brown colour. The top that she is wearing is red. The unusual thing about this portrait is that you cannot see her face due to the fact that it is completely covered in a large amount of butterflies. The butterflies have a mix of yellow, orange and red - something that relates to the type of clothing. The butterflies have a black outline which makes her stand out well against the background and the rest of the woman. This photograph looks good because it is really different and not something that is typical of a normal portrait. I think the background plays an important part in this portrait because it makes her stand out.

Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a boy who has been positioned in front of a full black background. The shot captures the head, neck, shoulders and chest of the boy. The boy has been painted on with three different colours. The first and brightest colour being present is that of an apple. The apple can be seen to be on the face. The apple features a leaf and a swig which has been painted at the top left of the forehead. The boy is not wearing anything - clothing wise but he does have a suit that has been painted on. The suit includes a red tie, white shirt and a black jacket. The black jacket does not cover the entire chest area and fades out towards the bottom of the body. I think that this works well because it allows for the audience to see that it's been painted on as well as the fact that it doesn't blend in with the black background because it is a lighter black and fades well enough for it to be seen.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a woman who is looking directly towards the camera lens. The photograph features the woman's head and shoulders - although the forehead has been cut out slightly. The woman's shoulders are covered in a animal themed material. The make-up of the woman makes this photograph unusual. This is due to the fact that it is quite bold and different. Her eyes area surrounded by black eye shadow which makes them stand out well against her skin. The lips feature black lines which continue about an inch up from the corners of her lips. The lines make her mouth appear as though it has been sewn and therefore creates a scary look. The further illuminate the scary look, the photograph has been put into black and white. This makes it more defining and more dramatic to the audience.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a man who is looking directly at the camera lens. The shot captures the man's head and part of his shoulders. The photograph's main focus is his face and therefore cuts off the rest of his body. The background of this shot is black - in order for the man to stand out well. The unusual part of this portrait is the use of sellotape. The man's face can be seen to have sellotape on it. It is present on his cheek and his chin - the sellotape on his chin is also stuck to his lip and therefore pull it down so that his mouth is open. Another piece of sellotape has been placed on his forehead and travels down to his nose. This specific piece of sellotape has pulled his nose upwards so it therefore looks like a pig nose. This is something that doesn't happen everyday and therefore attracts attention for being 'extraordinary' for the majority of people - it is something that is considered inappropriate behaviour.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a man who is looking directly at the camera lens. The man has been centred in the middle third of the photograph. The background within this shot has changed to a dark grey coloured to make the lighter grey stand out - this is due to the fact that it has been put into black and white to make it more dramatic. The shot features two separate body parts that have been overlapped to create one single image. The feet of the man have been placed inside the outline of the man's head. The facial features have then be moved and halved so that they are equal and then have been placed on each foot to create a full face. The feet have been put next to each other but have left a gap so that the face does not connect 100%. This makes it look more effective and unusual because the face doesn't line up on the two feet. Having it in black and white makes it look more defined and therefore gives it a more 'dramatic' feel to it.
Within this photograph, we can see a shot of a woman who is looking directly at the camera. The background that has been used within this photograph is black. This allows for the woman to stand out a lot easier. The shot contains the woman's head, shoulders and arms and cuts out just before her chest area. The skin that is showing is not covered and therefore allows for her to stand out more against the background. The woman's two hands and wrists have been covered in a liquid substance which in this case is chocolate. The chocolate stands out well against her light coloured skin. The woman has her finger in her mouth as if she is licking the chocolate of it. The fact that she has some on her face also indicates that she is eating the chocolate herself. This unusual portrait has been made sexy by using a naked woman and having her eat chocolate. Although having women being sexy in a photograph is not unusual, having her eat chocolate of her hands as well has having it on her wrists is very unusual.
Within this photograph we can see a shot of a woman who is looking directly at the camera lens. The shot captures the woman's head and neckline/collarbones. Her neckline/collarbones have been defined to make her appear more masculine and make her look more aggressive. The shot has been placed in black and white to allow for her pale skin to stand out against the darker background. The woman can be seen to be wearing giant eyelashes that are black. They stand out well against her pale skin. The only thing that makes this photograph appear unusual is the fact that the woman is seen to be wearing a mustache. The mustache features curls at the end of each side and is particularly thick in the middle and thins out slightly as it goes towards to the end. The mustache is something that is masculine and therefore contrasts against the stereotypical appearance of a woman.
